Summer Art Camp: Meet the Instructors

8 weeks: June 12 – August 11, 2017


Summer Art Camps at Greenville Center for Creative Arts inspire creative learning for kids ages 5–8 and 9–12.  Small class sizes, experienced and qualified instructors, and the opportunity to explore diverse materials and mediums make each day of Art Camp, from 9am – noon at GCCA, a creative adventure.  Register by week for 8 weeks of art themed programming. Summer Art Camp is $205 per week for non-members / $185 for members and includes all supplies and snack daily.

Susan Goldsmith

Susan Goldsmith has a BS in Design from Drexel University in Philadelphia, a BFA from Clemson University and an MAT in Arts Education.  She spent 18 years as a designer in textiles and later began teaching in the arts with Greenville County Schools. With her focus in ceramics and printmaking at Clemson, she later built a studio in her home where she taught classes and participated in Greenville Open Studios.  Teaching is where she shares her love for ceramics, design, sculpture, drawing and printmaking.  Encouraging students to develop artistic skills and find their own creative voice is her passion.  Susan currently teaches at GCCA and Furman University with Bridges to a Brighter Future.



Sarah Teal

Sarah Teal is a native South Carolinian artist and teacher. She currently teaches elementary school art at Pendleton Elementary School, and is still able to find time to explore her own personal art in her home studio. Her formal arts training began at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities and continued at Winthrop University where she graduated with a BFA in painting. Soon after, she obtained a master’s degree in art education. Sarah is passionate about teaching students about the magic and excitement of art.

Cecilia Ho

Cecilia Ho was born into a family of designers in Hong Kong but was first introduced to felting after moving to Nova Scotia, Canada in 2007. It was the local and plentiful sheep farms that influenced her passion and direction into felting and fiber arts. Cecilia offers felting demonstrations and workshops at museums, galleries, art & fiber festivals and has taken part in exhibitions, fashion shows and wool campaigns in the United States and Canada. Cecilia started FELTasticFashion in 2011, designing and packaging felting DIY kits for beginners and fiber art enthusiasts.
